After several centuries of war over the lands, things have been pretty
much established, with several provinces running their land as they see
fit. It was about three decades ago that the leaders of the provinces gathered
together and form the United Province Committee.
The United Province Committee, which is headquartered in the largest province, Lund Favion, is the main representative body for all the Provinces (much like the modern, real world United Nations), and is responsible for resolving conflicts between provinces in a diplomatic fashion. However, this diplomatic approach does not always achieve success. Most recently, against the wishes of the UPC, the Lund Favion Province waged a three year war against the Ohuha Provice under the guise of Lund Favion's "neighboring province" act, which states that Lund Favion has the authority to replace a government of a neighboring province by force if they believe the government of that province to be a threat. There were cries of outrage from the world community, and the UPC has begun to lose ground as a diplomatic solution provider. Once again, the world is on the brink of war. |
